What I offer

I believe that counselling should be accessible for everyone, whether you are having a bad few weeks or struggling to cope with something that has happened in your personal life. I have extensive knowledge working with adults of all ages with a variety of backgrounds, supporting people in and out of their employment, as well as with children and young people (11+), Special Educational Needs, and the LGBTQ+ community. It can be really daunting taking that first step towards counselling, but at Jurassic Coast Counselling, support is offered with compassion and understanding, in a safe environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I help individuals with a range of needs, including, but not exclusive to; emotional support and personal growth, relationship breakdowns, identity discovery, crisis intervention, loss, anxiety, depression and trauma. My goal is to help you achieve greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, supporting you in becoming the best version of yourself; your true self.

Children and Young People

I am deeply committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for children. With an extensive career in education, including significant experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and children with EHCP’s, I possess a profound understanding of how to effectively support children with a variety of additional needs. This includes those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, neurodiversity, disabilities, and health concerns. My comprehensive background enables me to tailor my approach to meet each child’s unique personality, ensuring they feel understood and supported. Beyond specialised support, I am adept at helping children work through general difficulties they may encounter, providing a compassionate space for them to express their feelings and develop coping strategies. My goal is to always promote well-being and help build resilience in every child I work with, guiding them towards a healthier, happier future.

“I had counselling once before and it wasn’t for me, but the experience with Holly was totally different! She knew about my troubles I’d had with it before, so was flexible on the basis of working one session at time. We ended on 6, but the skills and coping mechanisms I learnt in that time were life-changing, and I’m so grateful for having someone there for me who genuinely cared.”

“Great experience, wish I had sought counselling sooner. There’s a lot of stigma on males who need counselling, but I found Holly’s personality to be down to earth and warming, and it felt completely natural and not at all awkward opening up about my troubles. I have a very busy schedule so it was good being able to have some flexibility on times, with the option of paying for my sessions in advance so I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about a finding a weekly fee. Feeling much better :).”

“I don’t know where to begin- Holly has been a life link for me and my family (in terms of the impact therapy has had!) over the last year and has helped me on so many levels! I had no idea what I was doing with life or even who I was anymore. I feel as though we’ve been through so much together, and I didn’t want our sessions to end but after having a year of counselling, she helped me gain the skills to cope on my own. I’ll probably return one day but for now, I have never been happier having discovered so much about myself.”
